Small changes make a big difference. YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN – A NEW, ACTIVE AND HEALTHIER YOU IS HERE!
iGlobalWellness have the Top 10 Tips to help you create a new, healthy you for the New Year and beyond.
1. Take up a new hobby – pursuits like swimming, squash or tennis are a great way to get active and enjoy yourself at the same time. The more you enjoy it, the more you’ll want to be active – making a huge difference to your lifestyle.
2. Incorporate activity and exercise into your daily lifestyle – you’ll be surprised at how easy this can be. Walk in your lunch hour, take the stairs at work, walk to the shops, take the dog out, do some hoovering, get off the bus a stop before your destination – little bursts of activity have more of an impact on your health and wellness than you may first think.
3. Make dinner-time, family time – not only do you get quality time with your loved ones, but a sit down family meal encourages you to create a delicious healthy cuisine. Plus eating slowly aids digestion and helps you to feel full, discouraging over-eating.
4. Switch off the TV and go for a family walk after dinner or at the weekend. Not only will you burn calories and improve your cardiovascular health but you’ll get to spend quality time together.
5. Commit to getting a great night’s sleep – A good night’s sleep sets you up for the day, improves your mood and can combat the desire to reach for the coffee and chocolate, avoiding caffeine overload.
6. Create a weekly meal plan – Not only does this give you interesting variety in what you eat, but planning helps make sure you create healthy options and avoid prepared meals that may be quick and easy but are full of fat and calories
7. Drink plenty of water – There is a reason this is said time and time again – because it works! Keeping yourself hydrated has a huge positive impact on your health.
8. Don’t feel guilty about relaxing – in today’s hectic world, allowing yourself time to relax is vital to feeling healthy. Read a book, meditate – the choice is yours. You will feel energised as a result and ready to get active!

9. If you are trying to lose-weight, follow the slow and steady approach. Healthy eating, healthy exercise, realistic expectations with a dose of positive thinking will help make your weight-loss goals achievable and the journey to achieving them a happy one.1

Team Weight Loss – Lose weight with the support of family and friends.

Today, an independent developer released an app on Google Play (Android Market).
The app (titled Team Weight Loss) goes against the conventional weight loss approach.

It does this by encouraging it’s users to be part of a team.

Team members can consist of anyone – partners, friends, family, co-workers, etc. The app was built from the ground up with team focus in mind. Users can easily use the app without being part of a team, but this is discouraged as Team Weight loss encourages it’s users to manage their weight with the support of others.

Target Audience:
• Family members wishing to manage their weight together.
• Weight loss support groups wishing to keep an eye on each other’s efforts.
• Co-workers wishing to embark on a short term weight loss regime.
• Partners wishing to help each other to maintain an healthy weight
• And so on…

How it works:
The main area of the app is the weight graph. The weight graph displays weight entries (over time) of all members within a user’s team. The weight graph shows weight entries as loss or gain. Actual weight entries are hidden by default (but can be changed).

This ensures that members’ real weight remains private and only their weight loss “performance” is visible to their team members.

Teams have a start date. The graph will show all weight entries as loss or gain based on this date (i.e. how much weight you and your team members lost or gained since the team started).
From the weight graph the user can easily navigate to other areas of the app. These include:
• Weight Entry list (where the user can add or delete their weight entries)
• Teams (where the user can search, join or create teams
• Profile (where the user can change their settings)

Two version of the app are available on Google Play:Free (ad supported):

Organic Smoked Salmon Can Keep Dieters Healthy While Offering Weight Loss Help

There are many ways to lose weight but it is important that dieters remain healthy and continue to enjoy a regular intake of nutrient and vitamin rich ingredients in their daily diet.
Organic smoked salmon offers all of these benefits and many more besides which makes it one of the best possible additions to a diet.
It is filling, healthy, nutritional, and tastes great so it is no ordeal to have to add it to a weekly meal planner.
Fad diets tend to be exactly that – a fad, or a passing craze. People try them, possibly even find that they initially lose weight, but then discover that eating the same food types over and over again on a daily basis is very difficult. Worse still, some such diets can prove very unhealthy as the human body simply isn’t meant to endure such a high intake of some of the food products that have been mooted as a fad diet ingredient.

A balanced and nutritional meal plan should be considered an integral part in weight loss but it should also be varied. It should include meats as well as vegetables, roots, and other food types. Organic smoked salmon is especially beneficial because it is free from toxins and packed full of Omega 3 and vitamin E while being very low in carbohydrates.

Ardtaraig Foods is a family run business that provides their clients with access to Scottish and other fine foods. One of their most popular ranges is that of organic smoked salmon and this is available to order alone or as part of a gift basket or other collection of food items.

Paleo Diet: What Makes It Different?

Look, we’ve all been there and tried it: low fat, high-fibre, special K, whole-grain, small portions, skinless chickens even smaller portions. Paleoworks says this can make us sad or worse buttoned up, closed off, shut down, missing out, caught some how in the unforgiving glare of restriction and lack.
Or significantly worse, submitting our bodies to surgery and allowing science to cut out healthy tissue to force our bodies to accept and process the industrial food that we are not genetically adapted to eat.

In the end it is simple basic and obvious for those who can see. And for those who can see we are lucky and privileged to share this knowledge.

And so, what makes paleo different?

We target the problem by cutting out the foods that cause the chemical reactions in your body’s make-up that cause obesity, that cause you to store fat. We harness the science of evolution to work with your body and its natural proclivities.
For weight loss to work and to sustain each and every gain made in your weight loss journey, you must develop a way to absorb paleo style eating into your life. And, guided by first principles, you will work it out for yourself.
Knowledge is power. Take back control of your body, learn how to make it work for you not against you. Take that love of food and ramp it up.
What do you need to know? Well, adding good fats back into your diet creates taste and texture and a strong sense of well-being and better still a beautiful sense of satisfaction, of a full tummy quite contrary to that empty feeling experienced after consuming processed junk food.
But always remember, saturated fat is our friend as long as we keep insulin levels low. Combine fat and sugar (and I’m talking Belgian buns, cupcakes, doughnuts, mince pies) and you will always create and lay down fat in your body. I wish I had known that all those years ago.

Hey Weight Watchers why don’t you tell us that whilst you plug your own baked products on your programme?

That’s when paleo makes a difference…
…that’s when you know Paleo Works!
